Transitional Period (1640-1662)
After the death of the Emperor Wan Li in 1619,
Imperial production of porcelain ceased until 1663. This time span is
called the Transitional Period, when artists were able to create works
in private kilns and were no longer confined by the strict designs of
the Imperial court.
